OPPO is heating up the competition in the smartphone space with its latest entry, the Find 7, with impressive QHD display, 13 MP camera, ultra-fast charging capabilities and a lot more for $599.
OPPO, the Chinese smartphone maker, is upping the ante on its premium line of smartphones. The new entry, called the Find 7, is the latest high-end smartphone offered by OPPO in the wake of rising competition in the smartphone space. The Chinese phone maker's OPPO N1 was well-received in September last year. The OPPO Find 7 raises the bar even higher with premium features and a fine build.
OPPO boasts in its Twitter account that the Find 7 is the world's first smartphone to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display. It packs a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 with a 538 ppi pixel density, which is popularly known as a 2K display found in most high-end smartphones. The smartphone display also uses gapless screen technology and a TOL (Touch On Lens) module, making it thinner, lighter, durable and usable with wet or gloved hands. The Find 7 has some eye-catching features such as ultra-fast charging capabilities and impressive camera features.
With the Rapid Charge technology, the OPPO Find 7 can charge its 3,000 mAh battery from zero to 75 percent in just 30 minutes and charging the handset for 5 minutes can provide enough juice to last up to 2 hours of talk time.
The camera in the OPPO Find 7 features a 13-megapixel shooter in the rear with Sony's EXMOR IMX214 sensor. Additionally, the Find 7 records 4K videos at 30fps and 720p videos at 120 fps for slow motion effects. Most impressively, the new phone sports a new Super Zoom feature that lets users shoot 50-megapixel images. OPPO did not explain how the feature actually works, but CNET said the Super Zoom works by taking multiple shots and combines four for the big picture. CNET had hands-on experience with the new OPPO Find 7.
Under the hood, the OPPO Find 7 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, similar to Samsung Galaxy S5 and packs 3GB RAM along with 32GB built-in space. The memory can be further expanded with microSD cards, but the company did not mention the maximum storage capacity. The Find 7, like the N1, uses OPPO's custom ColorOS on Android 4.3 Jelly bean and supports gesture controls. The Find 7 sits on a magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis with its back cover built with carbon-fiber, making it more durable.
The handset will be available in China starting Thursday and will arrive in global markets in mid-April. The Find 7 is expected to hit a price range of $599 for an unlocked and unsubsidized version.
