Evelyn Lozada and her fiance, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford, welcomed a baby boy early Saturday morning (Mar. 22). The "Basketball Wives" star confirmed the news on Twitter writing "I have EXCITING NEWS! Thank you God for my blessing!"
She also included a link to a news story announcing the arrival of her bundle of joy. According to OK! Magazine, Lozada gave birth at 3:55 a.m. MST and the baby boy weighed 8 pounds and is 21 inches long.
She has not released the name of the baby yet. The VH1 star told "The Insider" that her daughter, Shaniece, Crawford and his family as well as her sisters and nieces were all there for the arrival of the baby.
"I'm literally on cloud nine! My baby boy is so handsome and I'm so geeked!" she said. "I have been waiting for this little man to arrive and seeing his beautiful face is breathtaking. Thank God he came out quick."
Shortly after Lozada revealed she was pregnant, she made another surprise announcement: she was engaged. On Christmas Day she shared a picture of the impressive diamond ring on Instagram captioning the photo "YES!"
"I'm overjoyed and in complete and utter shock!" she told People magazine at the time. "What a different year and a half it has been - I'm truly happy!"
Her rep told the magazine that the proposal was a shock to everyone and when the baseball star got down on one knee "it took Evelyn by surprise."
The 14.5 carat ring was designed by celebrity jeweler Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills. He also designed actress Gabrielle Union's ring.
"Carl has been a longtime client of mine and I knew immediately that he was really smitten and in love and wanted to make a statement that would light up the Christmas tree as well as the bride-to-be," Arasheben told People.
