According to reports, a lot of people knew about L'Wren Scott's financial and relationship troubles, the New York Post reports, but did little to help. There have been reports that Scott's fashion business was in debt; the Post claims this year it was $7 million in the hole and had been failing for several years.
"Her stylist friends, fashion friends, p.r. friends, critic friends all say they knew she was hemorrhaging financially," the site wrote. "Nobody helped. She saw only one way out."
In fact, celebrity gossip site Crazy Days and Nights claims to have received insider information about Scott saying that she wasn't doing well. The troubling blind item, posted a few days before Scott's body was found in her Manhattan apartment, read
"She is not dead, or at least don't think she is dead. I think people would say something if she died although she has disappeared from the face of the earth and no one is saying much of anything right now. She is a C list celebrity but is A list in her own little corner of the celebrity world. Her boyfriend is a permanent A lister and has been cheating on her almost everyday for the past month which also adds fuel to the fire. They used to be inseparable. Now they are not only separated but he is having his way with groupies and celebrities and other people taller than him. There are reports she had a breakdown because he was cheating on her. She canceled a huge event she was working on and has retreated into a hospital to get help although some people say she is hiding out at her home with medical professionals. You would think people would be talking by now but just the whispers getting louder. I think when her boyfriend gets back home the whispering will be much louder."
Less than a week after the site posted the disturbing message, Scott committed suicide. It's not clear who the blogger, who uses the pseudonym "Entertainment Lawyer," gets their blind items from or who their sources are.
Unfortunately the blind item posting was not the only piece of information hinting at troubling times for Scott. According to the Daily Mail, she secretly remortgaged her apartment for $1.2 million last year and then asked her longtime boyfriend, Mick Jagger, to help her clean up her financial mess.
Reportedly her close friends knew the relationship was in trouble and the two had been arguing over money.
"There was a massive argument last year when Mick learned she had secretly borrowed against her apartment," a source told the Daily Mail. "He bailed her out but she was going 'round saying he had told her, 'Call me when you sort out your mess.'"
His spokesman denied that the rocker ever said that. Currently funeral arraignments are being finalized for the designer and will take place in Los Angeles instead of New York where she lived.
