Prince George Play Date [SLIDESHOW]: Kate Middleton’s Son Crawls Around with Other Babies During His First Royal Engagement

All eyes were on Prince George as the eight-month-old royal baby crawled his way around a recent play date at the Government House in Wellington. Kate Middleton and Prince William are currently in the middle of their royal tour of New Zealand and Australia and stopped by a parent-child event on Apr. 9.

The royal baby, who is third in line for the thrown, was dressed in a Rachel Riley sailboat dungaree, a white collard onesie by Milo Body by Chelsea Clothing Co. and Alex Pre-Walker shoes by Early Days. At the beginning of the event, Middleton was seen holding her son as she walked around the room and talked to the other families.

Not long after, Prince George was crawling around and playing with other tiny tots. According to E! News, the royal couple met with 10 other families, all with children born around the same time as the royal baby.

The families were chosen to represent the "spread of all communities in New Zealand, including Maoris, Samoans, people of Chinese descent and gay couples," Plunket president Tristine Clarke told reporters, E! reports.

"It's madness," Prince William said at one point, according to reports. "There are babies everywhere!"

During the event, Middleton told parents that baby George was sleeping soundly throughout the night and had started eating solid foods. The Duke and Duchess also told the families that their son already had four or five teeth coming through.

The parents who were lucky enough to attend had nothing but nice things to say about Prince George. According to E!, Grant Collinge told reporters that the royal baby is his "own little man."

"He sort of took control went into the middle of the circle, hunted out the biggest toy, propped himself up, and he owned the place basically," Collinge said. "He's bubbly, a little bit feisty too but a very friendly baby."
