Chase Vasser, a former UGA football player, has reportedly landed a role on the upcoming season of AMC's "The Walking Dead." According to Comicbook.com, Vasser tweeted on Apr. 3 that his agent had just informed him that he "landed a role for SUITS next season" and had an "audition for The Walking Dead."
Reportedly, on Apr. 14 Vasser tweeted that he had officially landed the role on the zombie apocalypse show.
"It's official! Tune in Oct 13th on AMC for 'The Walking Dead!' #cannibaltwist," he posted, Comicbook.com reports.
Both tweets have since been deleted. Vasser did leave up a tweet about the show writing that it was probably "bad timing to say I've never watch an episode of the Walking Dead. Gotta Catch Up ASAP."
Season 5 of "TWD" has not been given an official release date and Oct. 13, 2014 falls on a Monday. As the site points out, Oct. 13 was the premiere date for last season, so fans will have to wait and see what happens.
It's not clear what role Vasser could reportedly be playing but he might have dropped a hint. According to Comicbook.com, the hash tag at the end of his tweet said, "#cannibaltwist," which could hint that he's going to play a cannibal at Terminus.
As of now, this is all a rumor but there has been speculation that Terminus was not a safe haven for survivors but a trap. AMC has not responded to the rumor and as we said earlier, the tweets have since been deleted.
If the report is true, Vasser will be joining Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and the rest of the original cast as well as Christian Serratos (Rosita), Alanna Masterson (Tara) and Andrew J. West (Gareth) who were all promoted to regulars.
Vasser is known for his time playing football at the University of Georgia before deciding to become an actor.
