"Assassin's Creed: Unity" might be making an appearance at E3 2014 in the form two new demos.
According an industry insider, Ubisoft will be showcasing story gameplay and a 4-player coop demo at the tech event. However, Ubisoft has yet to confirm the appearance of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise at E3.
In other "Assasin's Creed" news, Ubisoft executive Jade Raymond recently spoke to The Grid about the title's growing popularity. Raymond told The Grid the "Assassin's Creed" titles have sold more than 76 million copies, and it all has to do with the story line.
"I think the key to a popular game is a good core fantasy," Raymond said. "In Assassin's Creed, there is the obvious part: Who doesn't want to be a badass assassin? But then there is an additional element of getting to relive and play a role in these pivotal moments in history. We work with historians to recreate these societies-ancient Rome, the French Revolution. And because each game is crafted in a new era, players don't get tired of the it."
"Assassin's Creed: Unity," set in the French Revolution, will be released for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC some time in 2014. Though the title will be a next-gen exclusive, Ubisoft Vice President of Creative Lionel Raynaud confirmed to Edge online they will continue to make titles for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
"We will have games for PS3 and 360 for this year and probably the years after," Raynaud told Edge. "We want to be able to provide games to people who are playing on these consoles. Black Flag was the first Assassin's Creed game of this new generation but it was designed with that in mind, but I wouldn't say it was a cross-generation game, as it has features that could only be for this generation."
