Reps for actress Naya Rivera deny that she was fired from "Glee" but her character Santana Lopez was cut from the Season 5 script. A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced that Rivera and her "Glee" co-star Lea Michele got into a verbal altercation on set which resulted in someone getting escorted off the set.
Recently, another rumor surfaced claiming that Rivera had not gotten into a fight with Michele but with the show's producers and it led to her being fired.
"She went off," a source said, the Daily News reports. "But it had nothing to do with Lea."
According to PopWrapped.com, not only was the actress fired but her character had been removed from the final episode. A source also told E! News that Gleeks wouldn't see Santana on the May 13 show.
However, Rivera's rep told The Hollywood Reporter that the reports are not true and the actress was not let go.
"Any reports circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from 'Glee' are absolutely untrue. End of story," a spokesperson said.
THR reports that Fox refused to comment on Rivera and Michele's alleged feud and wouldn't say what her future with the show was.
Despite her rep denying the allegations, one thing is clear: Santana definitely won't make an appearance in the finale. According to E!, Santana was supposed to sing with co-stars Amber Riley and Heather Morris but the script was tweaked and that storyline was removed.
Sources told E! that the character being removed had nothing to do with Michele or tension on the set. Reportedly Rivera is on a hiatus.
"[Naya] isn't fired and her not being in the finale has nothing to do with Lea," the source said. "I don't know where these stories are coming from, but they are not true."
"We all needed a moment," the source continued, adding that the break was "best for everyone."
UPDATE: US Weekly reports that "multiple sources" have confirmed that Rivera was fired and her contract was not renewed for Season 6.
