‘The Voice’ Season 7: Gwen Stefani Officially Confirmed as New Judge; No Doubt Singer will Replace Pregnant Christina Aguilera

It's official. No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani has been confirmed as a coach for Season 7 of "The Voice." She will join veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and newbie Pharrell Williams. Stefani will replace Christina Aguilera, who announced that she was pregnant with her second child.

The "Beautiful" singer was first to reveal the news congratulating Stefani on Twitter, writing, "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses-xoxo #blondesdoitbest."

Stefani followed up with an Instagram photo of her hand holding a microphone mimicking the show's logo.

"It's true...@nbcthevoice," she captioned the photo.

Levine also welcomed the "Hollaback" singer tweeting, "Welcome to the party @gwenstafani!!! Shits about to get real."

According to CBS, Stefani and Williams are both expected to perform on the show on May 5. An earlier report by TMZ claims that the singer's contract with the NBC show is only for a year and Aguilera is expected to return for Season 8.

This year's current judges are Levine, Shelton and stand-ins Shakira and Usher.

"She's friends with the other coaches but has a strong opinion, which is also important," "The Voice" host Carson Daly told People magazine about Stefani. "They can't all just be too lovey out there. So I think she'd be a solid choice."

At the end of March, the show announced that Williams would replace Cee Lo Green, who surprisingly revealed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that he would not return as a coach because he wanted to focus on his music career.

"It's been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution in the world of music - the 'Despicable Me' franchise soundtracks, his Oscar-winning collaboration with Daft Punk on the breakout dance hit 'Get Lucky.' His dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incompatible accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, make him an irresistible addition to 'The Voice' family," NBC boss Paul Telegdy said in a statement to E! News.

There have also been rumors that Levine was not sure if he would be back for Season 7. According to Hollywood Life, he blamed the hesitation on a busy schedule.
