‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 Spoilers: Was Mary Cooking Humans? Director Promises Terminus Secrets will be Revealed

Director Greg Nicotero recently talked to Zap2It about Season 5 of "The Walking Dead." Unfortunately he didn't drop any major spoilers but he did say that viewers will find out exactly what Mary was cooking in the Season 4 finale.

It's been speculated that Terminus is home to the cannibals mentioned in the comic book series but that rumor has never been confirmed. And by the way, Nicotero told Zap2It that the show purposefully teased fans and wanted them to speculate about the supposed safe-haven.

"I know what she's cooking, and people will find out next season what she's cooking," he told the site. "I'm really proud of that episode."

Nicotero also confirmed that he would be back to direct a few episodes in the upcoming season but couldn't talk about them yet. According to Wetpaint, in Season 4 he directed the premiere and episodes 9 and 15.

The new season will also follow Season 4's format and have 16 episodes split in half. Robert Kirkman also dropped a few vague hints about the upcoming season during an appearance on Sundance's The Writer's Room.

"Every season we always come in with new characters, building up a largely new cast in new situations, going into a new environment, and I think we don't do that thing you think that successful shows would do - like 'Ok, this formula works, never change this!'" Kirkman said. "And so by the time we get to Season 5, I think that the world will have matured to a point that we're going to be going into some really interesting places that I think are going to shock a lot of people. So it's going to be pretty cool."

It seems like everyone is being vague about Season 5 even though fans are eager to find out what's going to happen. Norman Reedus (Daryl) dished on the upcoming season and said that it's going to be "completely insane."

"I sort of knew I needed a good month to rest to jump in," he told Entertainment Weekly. "The storyline they're throwing at me is a thousand miles an hour."
