Sony has released a major system update for the PlayStation 4 including downloads for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation App.
PS4 v. 1.70 will update the SHAREfactory app, which allows you to customize gameplay videos, include the option to disable HDCP for game, live broadcasting in HD and archiving support and more.
The biggest update to the PS4 is automatic pre-download for pre-order games. According to PlayStation's official blog, the update will allow users to download select pre-ordered games days before the title's official launch. The automatic pre-download will come with a countdown timer to inform gamers when their title will be available for download.
Along with the automatic pre-download, PS4 v. 1.70 update will also give gamers new SHARE options for sharing content with friends. According to PlayStation's official blog, the update will include:
1. Change the default gameplay recording time in the SHARE menu under Video Clip Settings.
2. Save only the video clips and screenshots you want by selecting Upload Screenshots or Upload Video Clips for each capture. Also upload video clips and screenshots during your live gameplay broadcasts.
3. Select specific Facebook audiences to share each video or screenshot with.
The PlayStation Vita v3.15 update is related to the handheld's Remote Play. The update will enable Automatic Device Registration, which allows the PS4 and Vita to automatically detect the systems as long as the devices are registered by the same user.
Lastly, the PlayStation App v1.70 update affects push notifications, friend requests and "more," according to PlayStation's blog. The update will give users the option to receive push notifications for select PS4 updates, friend requests and game alerts. The alerts can be sent via email or text messages if the user signs up for the notifications.
