Disney has released new teaser clips for the upcoming live-action "Sleeping Beauty" remake, "Maleficent."
Angelina Jolie takes on the role of the infamous villain and gave Disney's Movie Surfers a little bit of insight into her character.
"It's so much fun," Jolie said. "She is elegant, beautiful and a little wicked. You know I have my horns, which I love and I didn't want to take them off. She's my favorite Disney character."
Jolie also dished about Diaval, Maleficent's crow sidekick in the film.
"[Diaval] is a bird and he is everybody's fantasy best friend," the actress told the Movie Surfers. "[Maleficnet] can turn Diaval into anything she wants including a man, but he always morphs into something that's strangely bird-like. He's a great wingman."
As for why people should see the Disney film, Jolie says: "I think, in Disney tradition, it's got a world that you've never seen before, stunning creatures, a lot of really cool action and it is just wicked fun."
"Maleficent" will be released to theaters on May 30. Check out Disney's official film synopsis and the teaser clips below:
"'Maleficent' is the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic 'Sleeping Beauty.' A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal-an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom-and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well."
