The St. Louis Rams and the Minnesota Vikings reportedly discussed a trade involving quarterback Sam Bradford. Although St. Louis is supposedly willing to trade their No. 2 pick in the 2014 NFL draft, Peter King of MMQB reports the Rams are eying offensive tackle Greg Robinson.
Bradford, who is coming off last season's ACL tear, isn't guaranteed to be the Rams' franchise signal caller. A report last month indicated St. Louis feels uncertain if he can be their franchise quarterback, and on Monday Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported St. Louis and Minnesota likely discussed a deal involving Bradford.
"There are people in the league who believe there have been discussions with the Vikings," La Canfora said during an interview with CBS Sports radio, via SB Nation. "Rams people have denied any conversation whatsoever. The bottom line is if they don't take a quarterback, they're not trading Sam Bradford. There's so much uncertainty in this draft that it'd be difficult to put the horse before the cart ... all these things are tied together.
"The Rams are going to talk to a lot of teams between now and whenever their first pick is ... (and) continue to gauge the market."
King reported on Monday the Rams are interested in Robinson with their No. 2 pick and, if still on the board, quarterback Johnny Manziel with their No. 13 pick.
The aforementioned report about the Rams' uncertainty with Bradford, written by Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has both Thomas and NFL analyst Gil Brandt believing St. Louis will take a quarterback on Thursday or Friday.
"The consistent signal from Rams Park is that the team wants to take a quarterback in the mid-rounds, someone who isn't a project and could compete for a starting job in a year or two," Thomas wrote on April 21.
"I don't think there's any question the Rams are taking a quarterback," Brandt said, via The Post-Dispatch. "(General manager) Les Snead has been around looking at those guys."
Possible targets, assuming Manziel isn't available, include Pittsburgh's Tom Savage, Georgia's Aaron Murray and South Carolina's Connor Shaw.
