Beyonce, Jay Z, Solange Release Joint Statement About Attack; Designer Rachel Roy Concerned Incident Is Ruining Her Career?

The fight between Solange Knowles and Jay Z in an elevator at The Standard hotel allegedly went down due to a verbal altercation between Beyonce's sister and designer Rachel Roy.

According to Hollywood Life, Roy is concerned the media coverage is hurting her image and could cost her big time.

"She's worried this story could ruin her career and hurt her socially," a source told the gossip site.

There has been speculation that Jay Z could have been romantically involved with Roy while he and Damon Dash ran their clothing line Rocawear together. TV personality Wendy Williams stated on her talk show Roy was a former intern at Rocawear before she became Dash's wife.

Williams also went on to speculate about old rumors that claimed Jay Z and Dash would have sex with girls around the office, who they would allegedly pass as interns. However, Williams didn't confirm the rumors, but speculated Jay Z's falling out with Dash could have been related to Roy. You can watch the video below to hear William's theory about the confrontation.

Since the video of Solange's attack on Jay Z leaked, the Knowles-Carter family has released the following statement regarding the incident to the Associated Press:

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred.

"They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."
