Robert Pattinson: Kristen Stewart’s Ex Says No More ‘Twilight’ Movies; ‘I’m too Old’

Robert Pattinson completely destroyed all hope for another "Twilight" movie. The 28-year-old actor was at the Cannes Film Festival to promote his two new movies, "The River" and "Maps to the Stars" when reporters asked him about another "Twilight" movie.

It's been two years since the release of the fifth and final saga, "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2," and fans have been hoping for another flick about Bella and Edward. Pattinson (who played the sexy vampire Edward Cullen) explained to a Variety reporter why he wouldn't reprise the role.

"I couldn't do another 'Twilight' movie. I'm too old," he said.

What?! Too old? Pattinson looks like he hasn't aged a day since the 2012 film and we're sure if there was another "Twilight" movie, producers could figure out a way to make it work. It's been rumored that Pattinson has been trying to separate himself from the vampire saga by taking on different roles.

According to Hollywood Life, director Roman Gavras (who worked with Pattinson for the Dior campaign commercial) told Italian magazine lo Donna, that the actor was now interested in playing more mature roles.

"Rob is extremely curious," Gavras said. "He is leaving the phase of 'Twilight' 'poster boy' to play more mature roles. He's already making interesting choices."

Even though the Hollywood star has no interest in playing Edward again, he did tell reporters at Cannes that he was still shocked that the saga was so successful.

"No one thought it was going to be a big deal. We thought it was going to be like 'Thirteen,'" he said
