There's one bit of information confirmed about Season 5 of "The Walking Dead": Chase Vasser will NOT be on the show. By now fans have all heard about Vasser, the former UGA football player who was reportedly cast on the show.
For the past month, Vasser has been excitedly tweeting about his role but it turns out he made the whole thing up, at least that's what executive producer Gale Anne Hurd said. On May 17, Hurd shut down the rumors once and for all, posting that Vasser was a "fraud." Ouch!
"He was never cast on the show. Made it all up. #Fraud," she tweeted.
Hurd was replying to a tweet by Vasser that said he would not appear on the show. If you're a little bit confused, we'll explain it to you. Vasser's name surfaced in April after he tweeted that he had auditioned for "The Walking Dead."
The former athlete teased that his agent had just told him that he "landed a role for SUITS next season" and had an "audition for The Walking Dead." On Apr. 14, he updated his fans claiming that he had been cast on the show.
"It's official! Tune in Oct. 13th on AMC for 'The Walking Dead!' #cannibaltwist," he tweeted.
Both tweets were eventually deleted but Vasser wrote that he had to catch up on the zombie show because he had never seen an episode. About a month later, Vasser posted about being a "zombie killer."
"That's A Wrap! Finally done being 193 pound drug addict. Beast Mode for next Role! #ZombieKiller #NotDyingEasily," he wrote, before deleting the tweet.
Since getting ousted by Hurd, Vasser has been trying to clarify his suspicious Twitter posts telling fans that his tweets were never about the AMC show.
"my #ZombieKiller and #NotDyingEasily tweet was about my new film I'm doing where I'm a vampire fighting zombies, not a Walking Dead spoiler," he tweeted.
"I didn't leak any spoilers for the show, all my tweets are about other projects!" he added.
Some "Walking Dead" fans believe Vasser lied about the whole thing, while others think he was fired for talking about the show too much.
What do you think? Was Chase Vasser tweeting about other projects or fooling "Walking Dead" fans?
