Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar after-party incident with Miley Cyrus may not have happened.
Lawrence, 23, visited Seth Meyers on "Late Night" and told him the story about her rough Oscar night. She explained it was the first time she attended the event with her best friend who wanted her to have fun and drink. Lawrence was hesitant at first, but eventually gave in.
The actress told Meyers she and her friend attended Madonna's manager's after party, and by the end of the night was in pretty bad shape.
"I was in such bad condition and I look behind me and Miley Cyrus is there, and is like 'Get it together,' " Lawrence said.
However, the Cyrus doesn't recall the encounter with the Lawrence and denied the story to a fan that asked her about it on Twitter.
Cyrus has since taken down the tweet denying the story.
Lawrence is known to tell wild stories and the parties involved usually have backed her up. While on Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight" show, the actress told the crowd a story about how she and Fallon schemed to get Jennifer Lopez to dance with them.
Fallon ended up pulling out of their plan last minute after seeing Lopez's manager shake his head no. Lawrence didn't see the sign from Lopez's manager or Fallon move away from her, so she was left awkwardly asking the superstar to dance and she politely declined.
Whether the incident with Cyrus occurred or not, Lawrence knows her charm has helped her gain a strong online presence in the form of gifs and memes. The "X-Men" also told Marie Claire she is aware her popularity will eventually fade.
"Nobody can stay beloved forever...I never believed it, the whole time. I was like, just wait: People are going to get sick of me," she said. "My picture is everywhere, my interviews are everywhere; I'm way too annoying because I get on red carpets and I'm really hyper, most likely because I've been drinking, and I can't not photo-bomb somebody if it's a good opportunity. But it's something I always tell myself: 'You need to calm the fuck down. You don't want to constantly be a GIF.'"
