At the end of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" you see a Cyclops and Jean Grey alive, as well as Storm, Iceman, Rogue and other characters that we believed to be dead at one point in the film. As far as Channing Tatum's appearance in the "X-Men: Apocalypse," Kinberg claims the deal is still in negotiations.

"Gambit is still in-motion and being figured out. Channing made it known that it was a character that he loved and would love to play, and all the people who work on the X-Men movies are huge fans of his, so the notion of him playing it is exciting. I'm more fascinated by anti-heroes, and Gambit is one of those," Kinberg told The Daily Beast.

"I don't know why he wasn't explored in the original X-Men movies," he continued. "Maybe the reason why was because they wanted to focus on Rogue/Bobby or the platonic Rogue/Wolverine relationship, and maybe there were too many similarities between Wolverine and Gambit, so in order to make it a Wolverine-centric franchise they had to cut him loose."

However, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" fans will be pleased to see Quicksilver return to the franchise. Evan Peters is reportedly set to reprise his role in the upcoming franchise, but told The Hollywood Reporter he wasn't expecting his character to "steal" the show.

"No not at all," Peters said. "I knew the character was cool and they had written was great. But I didn't now any of the special effects they had planned. I had never done anything like this before. They were filming it and said it would look really cool. I'm super happy with it and pleasantly surprised and how awesome it turned out."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be released to theaters on May 27, 2016.
