Dina Lohan: Lindsay Lohan’s Mom Sentenced to 100 Hours of Community Service, License Suspended for 2013 DWI

Dina Lohan was sentenced to 100 hours of community service by a Nassau County district court judge on Tuesday, June 03 for a September 2013 DWI, ABC News reports. The mother of actress Lindsay Lohan also had her driver's license suspended for a year and was fined $3,000.

According to ABC, once Lohan gets her license back she will have to use a breathalyzer device in her car for one year. The device will only allow her car to start if she's sober. The 51-year-old's sentence also requires her to participate in a drunk-driving program and victims impact panel, ABC reports.

Lohan was pulled over on the Northern State Parkway in Long Island, New York, going 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Her blood alcohol level was 0.2 percent, which is more than double the legal limit of 0.08, People reports.

She was arrested just a couple months after Lindsay completed her sixth rehab program for drug and alcohol abuse. Following Dina's sentencing, her lawyer Mark Jay Heller, released a statement to ABC:

"In spite of the fact that the District Court of Nassau County dispenses the sternest DWI Sentences in America, which traditionally provides for a period of incarceration and three years of Probation, Dina Lohan's sentence did not provide for any period of incarceration or Probation, in light of Dina Lohan's exemplary record with no prior arrest history and in deference to the Nassau County Screening Evaluation of Ms. Lohan which concluded that she has no alcohol or substance abuse issues.

Clearly, it was recognized that Dina Lohan has been a life-long resident of Nassau County, a good and loving Parent to four children and the arrest was borne out of an isolated act of indiscretion on the occasion of her 50th Birthday. Dina Lohan is happy to put this unfortunate event behind her."
