AT&T First To Confirm Availability of Samsung Galaxy Tab S On Its Network In US

AT&T has confirmed that the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Tab S range will be offered on its network in the US, though pricing and availability details are yet to be revealed.

AT&T, the second largest wireless carrier in the U.S., has confirmed that it will bring the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Tab S series under its network. The national carrier is yet to give away the pricing and availability details on the new tablet range by Samsung, but the early confirmation is a sign of the carrier's lead against rivals such as Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. Eventually, the Galaxy Tab S will come to other carriers but making it available first on the network can win early buyers.

Samsung launched two new tablets, as a part of its new premium lineup of Galaxy Tab S, in New York City last Thursday. The Korean tech giant promoted the tablets as the company's lightest and thinnest to date. The Galaxy Tab S tablet is available in two sizes, 8.4-inches and 10.5-inches, and features one of the best displays with high-resolution. By introducing the new tablets, Samsung is clearly gunning for dominance against rival Apple.

"We are excited to bring the Samsung Galaxy Tab S to the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network2," AT&T's senior vice president for devices, Jeff Bradley, said in a press statement last week.

"AT&T offers the largest selection of Samsung devices and the Galaxy Tab S with access to 4G LTE will bring innovative new features and capabilities to Android device users. We are proud that AT&T will be among the first to offer this to consumers."

AT&T subscribers can enjoy the carrier's vast network of reliable 4G LTE speeds using the Galaxy Tab S tablet, as it is equipped with LTE support. Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S sports Exynos 5 Octa (1.9 GHz Quad Core + 1.3 GHz Quad core) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz Quad core processors, 3GB RAM and microSD card slot supporting up to 128GB.

Both tablet sizes feature Super AMOLED touch screen displays with 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution. The larger version of the Tab S features a 7,900mAh battery, while its smaller version packs a 4,900mAh cell.

AT&T's announcement does not give any detailed information about the tablet availability and pricing. It is also unclear if the carrier will offer both 16GB and 32GB variants. More details are likely to appear soon.
