The cast and crew of "Fast & Furious 7" have had to deal with a lot following the tragic death of Paul Walker. The actor, who died in November, was in the middle of filming the seventh installment of the franchise.
Production for the film was briefly delayed after Walker's tragic death and earlier this year Universal Pictures announced that the actor's brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, would fill in as body doubles. The film also plans on using technology to put the actor in the movie.
These challenges have slowed down production of the film but according to a new report, there's another problem: actor Vin Diesel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diesel has been bringing a lot of difficulties to the set and everyone is so fed up with him that they have "fantasized about using facial-replacement technology being deployed to put Walker in the film for Diesel as well."
"Vin spent a whole day in his trailer one day," the source said. "The next day, they waited four hours for him. He called a meeting [May 28] of studio execs to his trailer for two-and-a-half hours to say, 'What the f**am I doing here?'"
Because Diesel is refusing to work, production was reportedly forced to use body doubles. However, Universal chairman Donna Langley denied THR's allegations and said that "production is working through some challenges that are historically unprecedented. The crew and cast, led by Vin, have been nothing but terrific under these circumstances."
In related news, the Daily Mail reports that Cody Walker has been so well on set that producers want to give him a recurring role in future "Fast & Furious" movies. Cody and Caleb are currently standing-in for the seventh installment.
Last month, Cody was spotted on a beach in Miami filming a scene with Jordana Brewsrer, who plays the late actor's wife in the movie.
"Paul's character Brian O'Connor will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew," a source told the Daily Mail. "Of course, Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody is so likeable and charming. It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the 'Fast and Furious' movies."
