Cashier Sells Self $1M Ticket Using NASCAR Numbers, Plans to Visit Hawaii But Continue Working

A Missouri cashier sold herself a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million this week using NASCAR number, KAIT-8 TV notes.

Mary Jane Hart of Doniphan began her new job as a cashier last week and inspired by the whopping $600 million jackpot prize, she decided to play the lottery. The cashier sold herself a ticket which resulted in her winning not once, but twice. She first got $500, and then earned $1 million more on Saturday, according to the report.

"I've always wanted to win a jackpot so that I could go to way more NASCAR races than I go to [now], which is a lot," she said. On a whim, she decided to use the numbers of some of her favorite NASCAR drivers to fill out her Powerball ticket. The lottery draw came and went and she was unaware of the numbers. She later got a call from a collegue at the store she works at and they told her that someone had bought a winning ticket from them.

"So I went to the convenience store at Poplar Bluff and it said I was a winner," she said.

"We're just little common people here in a very poor community so this has been a very big deal to everybody here," Hart said in reference to her hometown, which has a population of 2,000, reported ABC News. "It's the buzz of the town."

Hart says she plans to use the money to go to more NASCAR games and visit Hawaii.

"That's a lifelong dream to want to go [to Hawaii]," she told KAIT. "I think I can do that now."

However, the cashier has responsible plans for her future as she plans to continue working at the store that brought her the winning luck.
