‘Ant-Man’ Movie News: Yellowjacket Will be Main Villain, Possibly Played by Patrick Wilson?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers about the upcoming "Ant-Man" movie.

There's some rather interesting stories floating around the Internet about the upcoming superhero flick "Ant-Man," starring Michael Douglas. Now that the film has locked down a director, Peyton Reed, spoilers are being leaked about rumored plot details and villains.

According to JoBlo, the movie will begin with Paul Rudd's character Scott Lang being a thief and single father who comes across tough times and breaks into Hank Pym's (Michael Douglas) apartment to steal the Ant-Man suit.

The site also described one of the villain's costumes and said that it will be a yellow and black armored suit with a tendril-looking device on the back. JoBlo claims that it's not clear if already-cast villains Patrick Wilson or Corey Stoll will play the role.

Following the report, Badass Digest suggested that the villain JoBlo named is Yellowjacket, which is very different than the Ant-Man comic books. In the comics, Pym dons the Yellowjacket costume but JoBlo's story suggests that that's not the case in the movie. Reportedly either Stoll or Wilson is up for the role.

ComicBook.com reported that they received word from an insider confirming that Yellowjacket will definitely be a villain in "Ant-Man."

"Within about ten minutes of running that story... a trusted source reached out to ComicBook.com to independently verify the story, providing details that we agreed to keep quiet in order to convince us of its veracity," the site wrote. "The report already seemed like a rumor that was common-sense enough to be true on its face, and a secondary confirmation from a source who's never misled us before is enough to call it confirmed."

JoBlo also dished on the Ant-Man suit and said the costume will be a lot more elaborate and futuristic than what's been previously seen. Reportedly the helmet will be able to open and close and there will be an assortment of red lights on the suit. When the helmet is closed, the eyes will glow red, the website wrote.

Despite facing a setback when director Edgar Wright quit, "Ant-Man" is till slated for an Aug. 17, 2015 release. The film stars Rudd, Douglas, Stoll, Wilson and Evangeline Lilly.
