Frances Bean Cobain Slams Lana Del Ray For Romanticizing Her Dad's Early Death: 'I'll Never Know My Father'

Frances Bean Cobain responded to Lana Del Rey's controversial comments about death during an interview with The Guardian.

Del Rey told the U.K. publication she wishes she were dead at a young age like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. She admitted an early death to her looks "glamorous" and she doesn't see herself doing "everything" for much longer, but wasn't clear on what she meant.

Frances, the daughter of the late Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, took to her Twitter to give a different perspective about dying at a young age, according to Billboard.

"The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize," Frances wrote. "I'll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it's 'cool'. Well, it's f--king not. Embrace life, because you only get one life."

Cobain's daughter has since taken down the tweets after Del Ray fans accused her of attacking the singer. Frances took to her Twitter, again, to clear up the meaning behind her message to Del Ray.

"I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience," she wrote.

In her interview with The Guardian, Del Rey claimed she isn't an artist who says things for the sake of shock value like Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Sinéad O'Connor or other musicians like them.

"Well maybe those people are true provocateurs," Del Rey said. "But I'm really not and never have been. I don't think there's any shock value in my stuff - well, maybe the odd disconcerting lyric - but I think other people probably deserve the criticism, because they're eliciting it."
