The film's main characters will be Boyega and fellow newcomer Daisy Ridley, according to Badass Digest. The two characters come together when they find a severed hand holding a Jedi relic.

“Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler,” Badass Digest reports. “Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.

“So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems.”

Making Star Wars reported back in June Boyega and Ridley also have a romantic story line. The actors allegedly auditioned under codenames “Thomas” and “Rachel."

“We have heard that Thomas starts the film on the side of the villains," Making Star Wars reports. "Thomas is shot down over Tatooine and he is injured from the crash. The things we heard from Abu Dhabi about a crashed ship is rumored to have been Thomas’ fighter. Rachel rescues him from the wreckage and the elements of the sandy planet. Over the course of their 'unlikely pairing,' Thomas sees the reality of the universe and he defects from the side of the villains and decides to help Rachel for saving his life.”

“Star Wars Episode 7” will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
