J.K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter' Novels Get A New Look In Honor Of The Wizard's 34th Birthday (PHOTOS)

In honor of Harry Potter turning 34 this year, Bloomsbury has released new covers for the J.K. Rowling’s epic saga.

IGN helped unveil the seven new covers featuring the boy wonder. Harry is looking a little thinner when facing Voldermort in the cover of “The Deathly Hallows,” but other wise the images do the wizard justice. Click here to view the new covers on IGN.

Before Harry’s big birthday, Rowling released a short story on her Pottermore website about the wizard’s appearance at the Quidditch World Cup, which was written in the point of view of a gossip columnist.

However, it was Rowling’s comments about Harry’s relationship with Hermione to Britain's Sunday Times that got the world’s attention. Rowling admitted she looks back at the series and wishes Harry was Hermione’s true love.

Rowling explained she stuck to her original plan of having Ron and Hermione together, but as the novels grew she knew Harry was the one for the heroine.

"I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That's how it was conceived, really," Rowling told the Sunday Times. "For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron."

"I know, I'm sorry," she added. "I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I'm absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people's hearts by saying this? I hope not."
