Let's face it, we don't want our favorite "Walking Dead" characters to die, but it's pretty much inevitable and Robert Kirkman said he knows exactly when each character will be killed off. During San Diego Comic-Con, Kirkman did an interview with Entertainment Weekly Radio and was asked if it was tough to say goodbye to certain characters on "The Walking Dead."
The creator said "it's kinda worse than that" and elaborated saying "I got a pretty good idea when all of them are dying. To a certain extent, if we follow the comic, like possibly even more than [showrunner] Scott [Gimple] knows."
"Doing the comic, it was fine because it was just lines on a paper," he added. "Whatever. We're killing that guy. Cool. But the show, it sucks because we all work together, we hang out and have a great time. But, you know, the story's gotta get done and people gots to die, as I like to say. It's pretty rough."
Kirkman also said that there were characters who were supposed to have died already but the creative team changed their minds.
"You can't tell 'em [the actors], because we change our minds all the time. And that's the other really bad thing about it. We can't really give them that much warning because there's always a chance that we'll get into actually writing the scripts after we plan things out and we're like, 'Nope, that character's living,'" he said. "Which has happened many times. So we don't want to have many false news giving situations."
So who's getting the ax on Season 5? There have been rumors that Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) would be killed this season. According to some (rumored) intel by The Spoiling Dead, Glenn's "death scene" was filmed last month.
What do you think of Robert Kirkman's comments?
