Detroit's 97.1 radio station learned it’s best not to throw shade at a rumored “Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice” character while the director is town.
Director Zack Snyder called into the Michigan radio station after the hosts Stoney and Bill were making fun of Aquaman, claiming they didn’t understand what purpose the character would serve in the film.
Snyder didn’t take the comments lightly and decided to call into the radio station to correct the assumptions the show hosts were making about the character.
"I don't want to give anything away about the movie, but Aquaman has some cool abilities," Snyder said during his radio call. "People are like: ‘Oh, what? Does he talk to animals? Cause that seems like what he does. Or fish?' The cool thing with Aquaman is he's Triton, so you have to realize that [he] could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact."
Though Snyder didn’t confirm the appearance of Aquaman in the film, “Game of Thrones” actor Jason Momoa is reportedly taking on the role.
"It's not to say that he's in the movie or anything like that," Snyder told the radio hosts. "But he has the potential to be bad ass."
Unfortunately for Snyder, alleged plot spoilers have already revealed details about Aquaman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. Badass Digest recently published specifics of the opening to “Batman vs. Superman.”
“My sources indicate that when BvS opens Batman has existed for close to thirty years, which would place Wayne in his 50s (which is why I expected more grey in Affleck's hair),” Badass Digest reports. “In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he's had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume.”
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
