Jennette McCurdy is back on your screens (computer screens this time) with a brand-new web series called "What's Next for Sarah?" McCurdy debuted the first episode on Vimeo on Aug. 12 and shortly after released three more.
The 22-year-old, whose hit show "Sam & Cat" was canceled last month, plays a young actress named Sarah who finds out that her series has been axed. Sounds like the web series might take some of its plot from McCurdy's real life.
In the premiere episode, Sarah is being interviewed by a reporter who tells her that it seems like she has everything: a hot boyfriend, a successful career and millions of fans. However, in the blink of an eye that all changes and Sarah is told that her show was just cancelled.
Suddenly, Sarah is faced with the all-too familiar question: "What do you want to do next?" The character isn't exactly sure what she wants to do - maybe get married, start a music career, go to school - so she responds with, "I don't know."
It seems like most fans are responding well to the new series and congratulated McCurdy on Twitter.
"@jennettemccurdy I am LOVING What's Next for Sarah! So hilarious!" @LiveLoveJelena tweeted.
"What's Next for Sarah is so good if it ended up being like a Netflix show like orange is the new black," AllAboutMcCurdy posted.
Following the premiere of the first episode, the actress answered questions on Reddit and revealed that the web series was her idea.
"I did come up with the idea, and I wrote all the episodes. My great friend Colton Tran directed and my friend Jesse Bloch produced. Preproduction was about a month. We had to shoot everything in three quick days. Then editing and whatnot took a month as well."
