You definitely don't want to miss the 2014 MTV VMAs on Aug. 24. Why? According to a new report, Beyonce will finally address the rumors that her marriage to Jay Z is over. A source told Hollywood Life that the "Partition" singer plans to either confirm or deny the rumors.
Instead of making a public statement, Beyonce reportedly will reveal the truth during her VMA performance.
"Beyonce wants to tackle the rumors in the best way she knows how, on stage," the source said. "During her performance, she is looking to do something to hopefully silence all the haters and the critics but, in true entertainment fashion, to make even more questions come out of it. She wants to make a statement that people will be talking about for a very long time."
It's not clear what Beyonce has up her sleeve but the last time she performed at the VMAs (in 2011) she announced her pregnancy with Blue Ivy. We have a feeling Beyonce's performance this year will be just as headline-worthy.
Despite her efforts to quiet the tabloid stories with happy family photos, US Weekly reported that Beyonce is ready to file for divorce. A source told the magazine's print edition that "she'll file for divorce in New York" and "lawyers are already involved."
US Weekly also claims that the couple already have a statement drafted that they'll send to the Associated Press if they do decide to split. Page Six claims that lawyers have been traveling with the couple on their "On the Run" tour.
Reportedly four attorneys were called to an emergency meeting with Beyonce, Jay Z, the tour's promoters Live Nation and HBO to work out the couple's rumored marital problems. A source told the paper that Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and HBO boss Richard Plepler fear the constant tabloid stories is turning into a "public relations nightmare."
"Rapino is pissed that everything is so out in the open and things are so heated," the source said. "It's gotten so bad that the couple is living separate lives even on the tour. They're not just staying in different hotel rooms, but they have booked separate hotels, and they arrive separately to each show."
