Kevin Hart won't let his engagement to Eniko Parrish be overshadowed by negative comments and misconceptions.
Hart, 35, recently proposed to longtime girlfriend Parrish on her 30th birthday. Hart received backlash from some fans claiming he actually waited until his ex-wife Torrei Hart’s show “Atlanta Exes” premiered on VH1 to announce the engagement.
The comedian turned mogul took to his Twitter account to clear up the confusion and reiterate his engagement to Parrish has nothing to do with his ex-wife’s show.
“I wish y'all could see my face when I read some of the comments that you guys leave,” Hart wrote in a longer post. “I just want to take a second to share some COMMONSENSE with you guys!!! August 18th was @neekibaby actual Birthday...it wasn't the day before or the day after. I will say this one more time & never repeat myself again.
“I wish my X Wife nothing but the best in life...I've moved forward with my life & have been doing so for the last 6 years. The only thing that was on my mind yesterday was making sure my lady had an amazing 30th B Day. I'm happy to say that my now FIANCÉ was blown away by the entire evening.”
During the premiere of “Atlanta Exes,” Torrei accused Hart of cheating on her with Parrish. Torrei believes Parrish is partly to blame for ruining their marriage. TMZ reports Hart’s ex took her co-stars to a strip club after the show premiered on VH1.
However, things got a little awkward when Hart arrived with his new fiancée. TMZ claims, “the 2 exes were seated within eyeshot of each other. They noticed each other but didn't say a word to one another.”
