The stealth mechanics will play a crucial role in “Assassin’s Creed: Unity,” according to Creative Director Alex Amancio.
In an interview with Gaming Bolt, Amancio spoke about the changes developers implanted in the upcoming AC title. Amancio claimed developers added several “elements” to redesign the stealth mode, including a crouch position that allows you to maneuver through a room without being detected.
“It’s important to say that Stealth Mode is more than just a crouch button,” Amancio said. “You’re less conspicuous when you’re in Stealth Mode. So, in Guard Posts, for example, if you want to move silently behind the guards, in Stealth Mode that’s possible because they won’t be aware of your presence, but if you walk or run past them, then they’ll turn around and detect you.
“There’s a light cover system as well, so if you’re by a low wall or pillar, you’ll automatically snap to that and you can move along it,” he added. “It’s a light snapping, though, so you can move away from it as well when you’re ready.”
Along with better stealth capbablities, fans can expect to a richer storyline in “Assassin’s Creed: Unity.” Amancio recently spoke to the “Assassin’s Creed” DevBlog about Arno’s connection to Elise, which will be more than just close friends.
“Elise is not Arno’s sister,” Amancio said. “They grew up together but never shared a brother/sister relationship. They became fast friends and, as the years went on, they eventually fell in love. Elise was born into a noble family, a very influential family. Her family’s influence greatly surpassed their title and that is because of their Templar connection.
“Elise had a very privileged childhood, she would never want for anything, but she wasn’t interested in sitting around and doing nothing. She’d rather be hanging out with the servants playing pharaoh than going to a ball. She has always been one for adventure and, more often than not, would drag Arno along, getting him into trouble.”
“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” will be released to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 28.
