‘The Bachelor’ 2015 Chris Soules: Arie Luyendyk Confirms He Lost Gig to Andi Dorfman Castoff (TWEETS)

It's official, Chris Soules is the 2015 "Bachelor." Chris Harrison is expected to make the announcement Wednesday, June 27 on "Good Morning America," but it's been rumored for months that farmer Chris (from Andi Dorfman's season) would be the next guy looking for love.

Soules was vying for the gig against former contestant Arie Luyendyk Jr. Sources told US Weekly that producers "really liked" Luyendyk but ultimately decided to offer the job to Soules because they think he has a unique appeal to Bachelor Nation.

Reportedly Luyendyk, a 32-year-old race car driver, is "pissed." He vented on Twitter about the network's decision and also revealed who was cast as the next "Bachelor."

"I'm not the 'Bachelor.' Have fun on the farm people," he posted, referring to Soules' occupation.

"Unlike a lot of Bachelors, you know what Chris is offering" the source said. "He wants to find a wife and family so badly, but he's also stuck in a place that he absolutely loves and where he needs to be for his job."

"Being a farmer's wife might not be for everybody, but there are a lot of women who really believe in it," the source added. "It will be a season different from other seasons. There will be some fun, pleasant surprises."

If you've been following the rumors then this announcement won't come as a shock. Back in May TV blogger Reality Steve revealed that ABC was eyeing Soules for the job.

"[Harrison's] already pumping up America for good 'ol country boy millionaire, Chris Soules," Reality Steve wrote at the time. "Not too hard to figure it out. Just like I said with Andi before Juan Pablo's season started, I'll say the same thing with Chris: this is his gig if he wants it. Sure the show will do their song and dance and ask their audience who they'd like, who are their favorites and they'll talk about what a tough decision they have. It'll be just to drum up interest in the franchise. It's Chris' gig to lose."
