Britney Spears is having a pretty "sh**ty day." The 32-year-old singer posted a video on Instagram Thursday night (Aug. 28) telling fans that they should find "shoes with hearts on them" whenever they are having a lousy day.
"Ok if you ever have a really, really s**ty day, find someone with shoes with hearts on them," Spears said as she pointed the camera to her friend's sneakers. "Made my day!"
The "Toxic" singer and her boyfriend of 18-months David Lucado split on Thursday after she learned that he had cheated. According to TMZ, Spears' father, Jamie Spears, broke the news to her that Lucado was caught on video kissing and dancing with another woman.
Reportedly the incriminating video was being shopped around Hollywood but Jamie called up the company trying to sell it and coughed up the cash. A source told TMZ that after Jamie purchased the tape he called his daughter and showed her the footage.
Immediately the pop star kicked Lucado to the curb. Jamie's rep told TMZ that he purchased the video because he wanted to protect his daughter from Lucado and he wanted to stop the video from being leaked to the world.
If the video does pop up online somewhere, Jamie can sue for copyright infringement. Spears confirmed the split on Twitter writing, "Ahhh the single life." A source told E! News that the singer is "heartbroken" over Lucado's cheating but "will get through it."
"She's a strong girl and he was never right for her," the source said.
Spears and Lucado were first romantically linked in February 2013, not long after she ended her engagement to Jason Trawick.
Back in November, Spears gushed about Lucado to "Entertainment Tonight" saying that she was "in love."
"I like the fact that he's very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways. He's just a simple man. I adore him," she said. "He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about and it's contagious."
