It was the weekend of celebrity weddings. Actress Gabrielle Union and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade kicked things off with an intimate ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 30, followed by singer-actress Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross' nuptials and Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg tying-the-knot.
According to People magazine, Union and Wade got married at Chateau Artisan, a castle surrounded by a moat in Miami, Fla. The 41-year-old "Being Mary Jane" star walked down the aisle in a white Dennis Basso gown while her groom, 32, wore a DSquared2 suit.
Local reports claim R&B singer John Legend performed and actress Essence Atkins officiated the ceremony. The two were joined by family and friends including Wade's two sons and his nephew. This is the second marriage for both Wade and Union.
"Lala" singer Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross wed at the Greenwich, Conn. home of Ross' mother, Diana Ross. According to People, newly married Jessica Simpson served as maid of honor and family friend CaCee Cobb was a bridesmaid.
Simpson's 5-year-old son Bronx Wentz, from a previous marriage to rocker Pete Wentz, walked the 29-year-old down the aisle.
Former "The View" cohost Jenny McCarthy also tied-the-knot this weekend. According to MTV, McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg wed at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Ill. The two were joined by family and friends including Wahlberg's "New Kids on the Block" bandmates Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight.
