Apple’s 5.5-inch iPhone 6 To Feature Optical Image Stabilization Feature In Camera

Apple iPhone 6 rumors continue to stack up just days ahead of its most-anticipated debut. In the latest round of leaked reports, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model is expected to pack the latest camera tech with optical image stabilization, a feature that is found on most high-end smartphones in the market. While Apple is expected to wow its fans with the iPhone 6 debut, new features to match the likes of other high-end phones will certainly give the smartphone a boost.

The information came to light after an alleged iPhone 6's camera component was pictured in the wild. The leak comes from the luxury phone designer Feld & Volk, which previously leaked a short YouTube video showing the rumored iPhone 6. After reviewing the video, MacRumors concluded the iPhone 6's screen resolution at 1334 x 750 pixels. The tech blog once again investigated the leaked images by Feld & Volk and reported that the rear camera in the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will include optical image stabilization (OIS).

OIS integration in smartphones helps users take crisp and noise-less pictures. The feature has embraced some of the latest flagship smartphones like the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. According to the report, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model will mostly lack the OIS feature due to the design of the rear shell that will not fit the larger module, suggesting different camera modules.

Mac Rumors also received other images showing a protective mesh for the speaker, microphone and a rubber seal around the power button. These new additions point at a possible dust and water resistance certification for the iPhone 6.

More concrete details are expected to arrive next week at a special media event on September 9. Apple has also set up a Live Stream page for the event so anyone around the world can watch the event as it happens.
