It's you've been following the tons of "Walking Dead" spoilers leaked online, then you know that the premiere episode is going to be action-packed. At the end of Season 4, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Co. were trapped in train car "A" at Terminus.
During the very first episode for Season 5, it's been rumored that the gang escapes. Now there are details rolling in, thanks to SFX Magazine (via Wetpaint), about episode 2 and a new character being introduced.
The magazine recently published a detailed report about the second episode and revealed that it would be directed by David Boyd. The publication also said this episode is the first time fans will meet Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam).
They described one scene as starting with a bunch of walkers surrounding "a young African American man wearing the white collar and black shirt of a priest." The report goes on to say that the priest kicks at the walkers and yells for help.
"From out of the forest [there's] what at first looks like a platoon of infantrymen. but as the brush clears, their faces grow familiar - Rick Grimes, his son Carl, Daryl Dixon, Maggie Greene, Glenn Rhee, Michonne, Carol Peletier," SFX writes. "In a heartbeat, they envelop the walkers, Rick grabs one, slams its head against the boulder, and throws it to the ground. Carol drives her knife through the skull of another. Michonne hits hers twice in the back of its head with the butt of a rifle, then a third time after it drops. The threat eliminated, Glenn shouts 'are we good?' After scanning for more walkers Rick replies, 'Yeah.' He looks up at the terrified man and offers his hand."
So is that how Father Gabriel is introduced? Rick and the others happen to stumble across him and help him out? In return, maybe Father Gabriel leads the group back to his church for safety. In the Season 5 trailer, released during Comic-Con, the group is seen at the church with the priest.
Whatever happens, we can't wait to check out Season 5 of "The Walking Dead," which premieres Sunday, Oct. 12.
