'Assassin's Creed: Unity': Find Easter Eggs Hidden In Paris Using 'Project Widow'

Ubisoft has launched a new interactive website that allow “Assassins” to explore the streets of Paris, France using 360-degree images of the city.

The site is called “Project Widow” and is power by, you guessed it, Abstergo. The goal of the interactive website is to unlock 119 “memories” associated with “Assassin’s Creed: Unity.” Those interested in taking part of the experience must locate different Easter Eggs hiding within Paris.

Users can hunt for hotspots, locate hidden gameplay screenshots, development art and YouTube videos. If that isn’t exciting enough, “Lord of the Rings” actor Andy Serkis narrates some of the videos. Check out Ubisoft’s interactive website here.

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity”, set during the French Revolution, follows the story of Arno on his quests to make amends for the “mistakes” he’s made. Writer Russell Lees recently spoke to the official DevBlog about the open world and how narratives will connect to the historical period.

“Normally in open world games, you have standard, open world activities. But we realized that we had Paris, France, and there was tons of historical content there that we wanted to take advantage of,” Lees told the DevBlog. “As a result, every single one of the side content activities has a historical tie, either to some interesting person or event that took place during the period.”

There will be plenty of side missions available for open-world gameplay. Lees claimed the characters you meet throughout Paris will affect the direction your personal story will go.

“Occasionally some of the stories connect to, or spin off of some of the characters you meet on the main path, like the Marquis de Sade for instance. But as the player can attempt these at any time, they couldn’t link too closely to the main narrative thrust,” Lees told the DevBlog.

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, as well as “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will hit store shelves on Nov. 11.
