Justin Bieber's attempt at cliff diving apparently went very wrong and left the 20-year-old pop star with an injury. On Wednesday, Bieber tweeted that he "busted his eardrum" and doctors said he might need surgery to repair the damage.
"Busted my ear drum cliff diving. Doc says might need surgery now. Sucks," he tweeted to his 54.9 million followers.
Shortly after he posted the message the Twitter hashtag "#FeelBetterJustin" started trending worldwide. The "Beauty and the Beat" singer also told fans that his injury could keep him from releasing new tracks.
"My ear drum might back us up a little but I'm still bringing you this new music. Much love. Damn u cliff diving!," Bieber said.
It's not clear when the cliff diving accident took place but it could stem from an outing he and a few friends had back in July. The video was posted on Instagram but was later deleted. However, TMZ snagged a copy of it. In the video Bieber is seen leaping from a cliff and awkwardly landing in the water. A woman could be heard saying "Oh my God" after Bieber makes his hard splash.
A source told the Daily Mail that Bieber is reportedly trying to turn over a new leaf after getting into a bit of trouble earlier this year. The "Boyfriend" singer, who rekindled his romance with Selena Gomez, had a few run-ins with his neighbors and was arrested a couple of times.
His most recent arrest was in late August for crashing his ATV into a minivan near his hometown of Ontario, Canada. At the time, PIX11 reported that Bieber got into a physical altercation with the driver of the minivan and was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and assault.
"Justin has been boasting to his friends about his new healthy lifestyle," the source said, according to the Daily Mail.
"He no longer drinks and has stopped eating junk food, too. He's had a difficult few months and is hoping that this will give him a fresh start."
