'Batman vs. Superman' Movie: Jason Momoa Says Zack Snyder's Vision For Films Is 'Genius'

“Aquaman” actor Jason Momoa has finally dished details about his upcoming role in the DC film universe.

The actor recently attend Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, Ga. where he explained to fans why he kept denying his casting in the film, according to ComicBook.com.

“Listen, I was asked to play [Aquaman],” Momoa told the crowd. “You know, you audition and stuff like that, but the fact is you’ve just got to keep it quiet. You know what I mean, I was just trying to respect Warner Bros. and everyone’s wishes. I’m really, really happy that I don’t have to be quiet anymore, because that’s really hard for me.”

As for when his “Aquaman” solo film production will begin, Momoa still isn’t sure when the studio will be ready to begin shooting. However, the actor did say production would begin some time between 2016 and 2017.

Unfortunately for fans, Momoa’s cameo in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” may not be happening after all.

“I really wish I could say something, but I don’t even know,” Momoa said. “I found out some of the characters that are in Justice League that are casted that I didn’t know. So you found out when I found out. And that stuff is pretty tight-lipped so I don’t have anything to give.”

However, the “Game of Thrones” actor does known what director Zack Snyder’s “Batman vs. Superman” vision entails and is looking forward to representing his culture in the DC franchises.

“The greatest thing for me is that Polynesians, our gods, Kahoali, Maui, all these water gods, so it’s really cool and a honor to be playing a [water] character,” he said. “And there’s not too many brown superheroes, so I’m really looking forward to representing the Polynesians, the natives.”

Momoa added, “My family are some of the greatest water men on earth. I’m not, but I’m going to go train with them. But it’s really an honor just being a Polynesian. And water is the most important thing in this world and we all know it. It’s cool be a part of DC’s universe. I’m really excited to be with Warner Bros., and hopefully everyone likes it. And Zack Snyder’s a genius, so I’m really excited to be hanging out with him.”
