Jena Malone refuses to comment on her alleged casting in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
An E! News correspondent caught up with the actress during a launch party for The Art of Discovery on Rodeo Drive. He asked Malone if she was playing Robin in the upcoming production.
The actress reportedly walked away from him without uttering a word.
WILX-10 reports multiple sources have confirmed Malone is set to play Carrie Kelly, the female Robin in DC Comics’ “The Dark Knight” series.
The actress fueled the casting rumors when she visited the “Batman vs. Superman” Detroit set back in August. Malone was then spotted with red hair in September, the color of Kelly’s hair in the comics.
Batman actor Ben Affleck also confirmed “The Dark Knight” series was a major influence on director Zack Snyder’s vision for the film.
“I will say that I think Zack was heavily influenced by that ['Dark Knight Returns'],” Affleck told MTV. “I think everyone’s heavily influenced by that. It’s the seminal work, right? I don’t think there’s any of these [Batman movies] that have been made without drawing from that book because it’s so good. And I think if you’re smart, you steal from the best.”
Unfortunately for fans, Malone and the “Batman vs. Superman” camp have yet to comment on the casting news.
“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams will be released to theaters on March 25, 2016.
