'Assassin's Creed: Unity' Trailer: 'Time Anomaly' Clip Reveals Gamers May Travel Between Different Eras In Next-Gen Title (WATCH)

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” throws a curve ball to fans in the latest teaser titled “Time Anomaly.”

The trailer features Assassin Arno Dorian running through the streets of Paris during the French Revolution era. However, something interrupt’s the simulation and the Assassin must find a way out before he gets trapped. It unclear if the Assassin is in the Animus or using something else to explore DNA memories.

According to UbiBlog, the “time anomaly” is a new feature for the “Assassin’s Creed” universe. The game developers didn’t provide any additional details regarding the feature, but asked fans to speculate about it on their official blog.

The “time anomaly” could be a new way to introduce the “Modern Day” aspect of the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise. Since Desmond Miles’ death in “Assassin’s Creed III”, developers haven’t shared many details about what’s happening in the world now that the Apocalypse has been avoided. The feature could also be introducing a new piece of Eden, which fans haven't really scene since the Apple in "Assassin's Creed III."

In “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag,” gamers played as an Abstergo employee who gets recruited by the Brotherhood to help figure out what the Templar Order is planning to do next. Gamers are eventually introduced to Juno, who seems to have lost her powers and is searching for a vessel to start her “plan”, whatever that may be.

Developers haven’t talked much about the “Modern Day” aspect of “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” or the last-gen exclusive “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.” Hopefully the “time anomaly” feature will help progress the present day storyline as well as the Animus storyline.

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” will be released to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on Nov. 11. on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Gamers can preorder the title to unlock the Chemical Revolution single-player mission.

Ubisoft is also providing Season Pass holders with two DLC options: Dead Kings campaign following Arno as her explore the Catacombs and Shao Jun’s “Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China” story.
