Sam Smith Follows Adele's Footsteps, Becomes Next British Singer To Helm 'James Bond' Theme Song?

Sam Smith is following the footsteps of British singer Adele as he has reportedly been tapped to sing the theme song to the upcoming James Bond film.

Smith is reportedly in talks to lend his soulful vocals to the “Bond 24” soundtrack, according to Page Six. The singer allegedly beat out Lana Del Rey for the coveted gig, but a rep for Smith couldn’t confirm the news.

Another singer also might be a part of the “Bond 24” soundtrack. Rihanna is reportedly in talks to make a cameo in the upcoming film, according to Hollywood Life.

“There have definitely been discussions of her joining the cast to be a Bond Girl,” a source told Hollywood Life. “But she will not be the most focused Bond Girl if she gets the part. It will be more of a glorified cameo.

“Something that they have done in the past with people like Madonna, it will be a brief part of the film if she ends up making an appearance.”

Rihanna was also rumored to help create the “Bond 24” theme song early October.

“They are actually looking for her to do the theme and the role would just be an added bonus,” the source said.

Rihanna may be the newest Bond girl, but “Guardians of the Galaxy” could be Dave Bautista the next Bond villain. The “Bond 24” production has also been busy looking for a male villain who’s in great shape.

“Seems like the found their guy because according to sources, Dave Bautista, mega hot off his career making role as Drax The Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy, has bagged the role of HINX in the upcoming Bond 24,” according to The Latino Review.

“Bond 24” is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.
