George R.R. Martin is finally ready to finish his sixth book "Winds of Winter." Fans have been patiently waiting for the author to release the next novel in the "Game of Thrones" series and a new report claims that they don't have much longer to wait.
According to Hollywood Life, Martin was inspired to hurry up and finish the book after watching the trailer for "Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens." A source told the site that seeing how fans reacted to the trailer made Martin's "creative juices flow."
Reportedly, he hopes to have the book completed by 2015.
"He was really excited about the 'Star Wars' trailer and knows that people will feel the same way once his book is out," the source said. "He finally looked into things as a fan and not as a writer. The trailer opened up something he has been missing lately, the wonderment of everything is making his creative juices flow again. He is determined to have the new book out and ready for 2015."
A few months ago Martin attended the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival and explained why it was taking him so long to finish "Winds of Winter."
"Writer's block isn't to blame here, it's distraction. In recent years, all of the work I've been doing creates problems because it creates distraction," he said. "Because the books and the show are so popular I have interviews to do constantly. I have travel plans constantly. It's like suddenly I get invited to travel to South Africa or Dubai, and who's passing up a free trip to Dubai?"
"I don't write when I travel. I don't write in hotel rooms. I don't write on airplanes. I really have to be in my own house undisturbed to write," Martin explained. "Through most of my life nobody did bother me, but now everyone bothers me every day. I have assistants and minions whose main job is to make sure people don't bother me so I can actually get writing done."
Season 5 of "Game of Thrones" premieres in 2015.
