There's a rumor floating around the internet that one of the main characters in the Batman universe might already be dead when Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" begins. The sequel to last year's "Man of Steel" is packed with superhero cameos but one important face will be missing: Commissioner James Gordon.
Some fans might have noticed that Snyder never cast an actor to play Gordon in the film, and Badass Digest claims there is a very specific reason for that. Sources connected to the film said that the commissioner is already dead by the time the movie begins. Reportedly, the only mention of Gordon will be a memorial plaque with his name on on it.
Badass Digest also claims that Batman (played by Ben Affleck) has been working in Gotham for 17 years when "Dawn of Justice" begins, however, most of the film takes place in Metropolis. The city of Gotham will only be involved in a few of scenes, including a fight scene and when Superman (Henry Cavill) comes looking for the Caped Crusader.
Last year it was revealed that Affleck's Batman would be "tired and weary and seasoned and had been doing it for a while." The actor has also been spotted on set in Michigan "sporting grey hair on his temples... as Bruce Wayne involved [in] a scene in the film where he's saving people after some sort of attack on Metropolis which caused a lot of destruction."
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will open March 25, 2016.
