"How to Get Away with Murder" wrapped its first half of the premiere season in November and we're already missing it. The show kicks off with new episodes Jan. 29 - which seems so far away - so we scoured the internet for spoilers and teasers about the second half.
November's midseason finale ended with Sam's murderer finally being revealed (Wes did it) and Annalise asking the Keaton Five to tell police everything they know about Murder Night. What the group doesn't know is that Wes and Annalise could be secretly working together, after all she did witness Wes come back to her house to grab the immunity idol from next to Sam's dead body.
We have a feeling the second half is going to be crazy. Check out creator Peter Nowalk's teasers about the show's return below:
Don't underestimate Wes (Alfred Enoch):
Nowalk shared with TV Line that fans definitely need to pay attention to Wes' confession that his mother killed herself when she was younger.
"That was a big bomb. It was buried in a bunch of information that was not significant, and it explains a lot of Wes' behavior; it explains that he has a deep sadness, a loneliness. It maybe explains a little of his 'damsel-in-distress-rescue syndrome,' too. It's a question: 'How did [Wes' mother] kill herself? Why did she kill herself? What happened to Wes after that? And how did that impact who he was?' What happens to us as children completely determines our psychology and our behavior after that. [That death], basically, blew apart his life.... [Wes] is much stronger than people think at first glance. Wes has been though things that are worse than any of [his Keating Five counterparts]. He knows how to shut down his emotions in the dramatic events of Murder Night."
Can Annalise and Wes trust each other:
Via Entertainment Weekly: "That's the question I want people to wonder. When we come back in January, there will be an answer one way or another. It's left as a dangling chad, or whatever you want to call it, so people can try to fill in those blanks themselves."
Fans could meet Sam's first wife:
Via TV Guide: "Nowalk did tease that we will soon meet someone from Sam's past. (Perhaps his first wife on whom he cheated with Annalise?)."
Does the Keating Five trust one another:
Via Entertainment Weekly: "I don't think they can. I don't think they have reason to trust each other completely. That will be a lot of the subsequent episodes: Who can you trust? It started out with the Survivor immunity idol. This is only going to heighten that. That's what I'm interested in exploring: Which student decides to trust which other student in ways that you wouldn't expect?"
Rebecca's 911 call in the hotel room could ruin everything:
"She panicked for a second and made a mistake... but they need a whole story for that," Katie Findlay told TV Guide. "Did anyone see [her and Wes] there? Can they prove that it was Rebecca? She doesn't have an [alibi] for the night."
Will someone take the fall at the end of Season 1:
Via Entertainment Weekly: "... I think that's definitely a fear for all the characters. Honestly, we haven't completely decided. At the end of the season, we'll know. There are going to be suspects in Sam's disappearance."
