The drama is brewing on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" and it's not the cast members stirring up trouble. Gossip site Media Take Out reports that Bravo producers are desperate to get the show's ratings up so they want to fire nearly half the cast.
"This season did NOT bring the drama that we thought it would," the source said. "The [Real Housewives of Atlanta] is about real drama, not pretend fights and scripted scenes. The ladies didn't bring it this season."
Sources told MTO that Nee Leakes, Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey are all on the chopping block.
"It's a done deal - they're gone," the source told MTO, adding that Porsha Williams is "probably gone too... but we'll have to see."
Reportedly, the ones safe to return for Season 8 are Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks.
"Both of them have enough [real] drama in their lives that we'll definitely bring them back," the source said.
"Everyone liked Claudia [Jordan], so she'll probably be back too," the source added.
There was no mention whether producers plan on bringing back new cast member Demetria McKinney, who was added to the show in a part-time status. A few months ago there were rumors that Porsha was in talks to land her own spinoff show.
Sources previously told MTO that she was demoted to part-time cast member because producers wanted her to film her own series. The source claims that she's set to begin shooting in 2015. However, a different source told TMZ that Porsha was part-time on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" because producers thought her storyline was weak.
According to TMZ, producers originally wanted to keep Porsha on the show full-time but changed their minds after she allegedly attacked Claudia. She also got into a fight with Kenya during the Season 6 reunion.
Producers also believed that Porsha was keeping certain details about her personal life from them which made it harder to tell her story. Claudia replaced Porsha as full-time cast member and Demetria was added in a second part-time slot.
