Attention Little Monsters: Lady Gaga is back!
Gaga took to Facebook Thursday to confirm release dates for several new projects including a single due out Aug. 19 and a new album and accompanying app available on Nov. 11.
The eccentrically-worded post described the new album, entitled ARTPOP, saying it "musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey."
Despite the artsy language, the post seems to elude to some epic collabs that are sure to please the pop star's eager fans, who have been waiting anxiously for the follow-up to Gaga's 2011 hit album "Born This Way."
The announcement also described plans to release an app designed by tech-savvy members of Gaga's creative team, Haus of Gaga.
According to the post, the app is "a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive worldwide community." It will allow users to build and share their own projects, and also includes a chat feature.
While more technical details have not been released, Gaga promises app users will "share in the 'adrenaline of fame.'"
Plans for a new album were first announced late last year with an expected release in early 2013, but the project was put on hold when Gaga injured her hip and underwent surgery. The medical issue also forced the performer to cancel 22 shows that were meant to be a part of her "Born This Way Ball" tour.
According to The Sun, Gaga will make her return to the stage at the iTunes Festival in London this September.
"The gig has a huge budget and is likely to be the first anyone sees or hears of her album," a source told the British publication. "The music is going to be a big departure and Gaga's dreamed up a whole new image for the album."
