Kate Middleton Due Date: Duchess's Fashion and Style Changing After Arrival Of Royal 'Baby Cambridge'?

One of the things that makes Kate Middleton so endearing to the public is her chic and sophisticated sense of style. The Duchess of Cambridge prefers clean, simple lines, soft colors and elegant cuts.

The royal baby, or "Baby Cambridge" as he or she is affectionately known as, may be the catalyst for the Duchess and mama-to-be to switch up her style and try new things in the world of fashion post-birth.

According to ABC News, there is already growing speculation on how the Duchess will present herself to the public after the delivery, especially what she'll be wearing, and even what the future prince or princess may be wearing as well.

"I am sure Kate's thought a lot about the outfit she'll first be seen in after she gives birth...and stands on those steps," said Victoria Murphy, ABC News' royal consultant. Murphy is referring to the steps outside of St. Mary's Hospital, where Middleton will give birth any day now in the private Lindo wing, the same hospital where her late mother-in-law Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William.

Princess Diana famously wore a shapeless dress that some say made her still appear pregnant while leaving the hospital after giving birth to Prince William. Middleton is expected to go for a sleeker look, and insider Murphy reveals she may even be in high heels!

"It's one thing I noticed throughout her pregnancy. She was always in heels at least three inches high," Murphy said.

Looking stunning as a new mother is a high-pressure situation for many women, according to ABC News, commonly known as the "fourth trimester" when a woman's body is recovering from pregnancy and childbirth.

According to London fashion rep Sophie Hedley, fourth-trimester fashions are increasing in popularity among some of the U.K.'s most prominent mothers. Hedley explained that Middleton could use tricks leaving the hospital like wearing a scarf, a rich embroidered coat over a skirt or dress.

Hedley also feels it is important for women to look good underneath as well. "I don't know any fashionable woman who wouldn't be seen without admitting that she owns a pair of Spanx," Hedly said.

Regardless of what the Duchess decides to wear after she gives birth, all eyes will be on her and her new baby, due by July 13, though the official due date has not been confirmed by the palace.
