The Sacramento Kings announced Friday the acquisition of forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, according to NBA.com.
The deal with the Milwaukee Bucks was struck earlier in the week but was not finalized until yesterday. The Bucks will receive two second-round picks.
Mbah a Moute averaged 6.7 points and 4.4 rebounds last season with the Bucks.
The UCLA product is known around the league for his outstanding defense. His 6’ 8“ frame and athleticism allows him to stay in front of ball handlers and bother shots. While Mbah a Moute does not have a great outside shot, his athleticism allows him to get to the rim from time to time.
The former 37th overall draft pick of the Bucks will be in the last two years of a four year deal worth approximately $19 million. He signed the deal while he was a restricted free agent during the 2011-2012 season which was shortened by a lockout.
The Kings have been active this offseason making a few decent moves. They recently signed forward Carl Landry to a four year, $26 million deal. Landry provided instant scoring off the bench for the Golden State Warriors last season and was a key piece during the Warriors short playoff run.
The Kings have also added Greivis Vasquez by way of a three team trade with the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trailblazers.
Vasquez was in the running for the Most Improved Player award last season, averaging 13 points and a nine assists per game, both career highs.
