Denzel Washington has been in a sticky mess the past couple days and things have just gotten worse for the actor as old cheating allegations resurfaced. Earlier in the week rumors surfaced that the 58-year-old actor had cheated on his wife, Pauletta Washington, by kissing a woman he met at a party.
According to Radar Online, the pictures were being sent to different media outlets and showed Denzel sitting on a coach next to a mystery woman. In some of the pictures Denzel is reportedly seen pulling the woman in and kissing her on the lips. Radar claims to have seen the pictures.
Denzel's rep denies the allegations telling Gossip Cop that his client and Pauletta are not divorcing. The rumors began after the two supposedly spent their 30th wedding anniversary apart. This is not the first time Denzel has had to deal with cheating rumors.
In the past allegations surfaced that the actor and his "Out of Time" co-star Sanaa Lathan, were having an affair. At one point it was rumored that she was pregnant with his child. Both denied the rumors and in a 2006 interview with Vibe magazine, Lathan said the allegations had upset her.
"(The rumor) got started because the movie had a love scene with Denzel, and people took that and translated it to real life," Lathan said in a 2006 interview. "They said I was pregnant with Denzel's child, and people were calling my mother, saying I'm having his baby. It's frustrating. People are going to talk no matter what."
The new cheating allegations for the veteran actor come just after he appeared on the cover of Ebony magazine with his wife. For the cover story the two talked about their 30-year marriage and why it has lasted so long.
"There's no magical mystery to [staying together]... We go through ups and downs like any couple," Denzel said adding that he thinks "we live in a time - and it's not for me to judge anyone - when people give up too easy."
"I love with this man. I see the down part. I see the sad part. I see every part. He has and knows he has stability with his wife," Pauletta continued. "That's what gives him strength, regardless if he misuses it. I can't dwell on that. But I do know that gives him a great platform to go and fly."
In "Out of Time" Denzel and Lathan played lovers. Denzel is a well-respected chief of police in a Florida town who is dealing with the impending divorce of his wife (played by Eva Mendes). His character is having an affair with Lathan's character, who is unhappily married to a man who abuses her. The movies takes a turn for the worse when Denzel's character gives money he found in a drug bust to Lathan's character to help her out of a sticky situation. Her character ends up dead and the money goes missing.
